Book Review: The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender by Leslye Walton

I'm going to start by saying that this was a five star read for me.

This book follows the women of one family through four generations. Each of them has their own "gift" and we see how that impacts their life.

The biggest focus in the book is love and how it doesn't always go how you want it to. This is a character driven story with beautiful writing and a rich atmosphere. I was instantly pulled in and wanted to see what would happen to all of these women and the other members of their family.

I will say that if you aren't a fan of magical realism than this book isn't for you. However, if you are, then this is a great book to check out. Each woman's gift is unique and how they interact with the world around them is fascinating. Again, I think this book was extremely enjoyable and something I could definitely read again.
