2022 Reading Goals

This is the first full year that I haven't been in school so I finally have lots of time for pleasure reading. It has been so nice to actually pick up books I want to read and not something I have had to read for school. So, this year I set my reading goal at 25 books so that I could see if that would be doable for me. It appears it will be since it is only February and I have already read 16 books as of this post.

I had lost my motivation to pick up books outside of school because I was doing so much reading in school that I felt like I needed a break from it. I was worried that the joy of reading had left and I wouldn't read as much as I used to. However, as soon as I graduated I began gravitating toward my books again and I have been of a great reading kick ever since. I once again fell in love with the written word and all of these worlds and lives to explore.

So, my goals for this year, besides just reading 25 books, is to also spend time getting caught up on my back list titles. For the past few years I have been steadily accumulating books, but reading very few of them. I figured I should start with trying to go through that collection before trying to get up to date with newer releases. So far that has been going well.

What are your reading goals for the year? Have you been enjoying the things you have read? I would love to know.
